Project Description

Transforming the Telephone Exchange

Telford House was once the local Telephone Exchange and was of keen interest to local developers for a new apartment complex, however Porter Dodson saved the building and much of its history with it. Our challenge was to create a space that was fresh and inviting, but also offered privacy and professionalism to clients throughout the three floors of this solicitors office. The completion of the project dramatically improved the visibility to clients (both new and prospective) lifting the brand image.

Future ready

A key focus of this design was to ensure that the office investment remained relevant for years to come as well as supporting growth of the business. This involved the inclusion of a full IT conferencing system, and a new car park with electric car charging points. These small elements also helped to keep us favourable with the local planning authorities.

Sustainable

Energy conservation and heat re-cycling replaced multiple heating systems and extremes of temperature through the seasons. Barriers were removed which wasted circulation space, reducing the need for the burning of fossil fuel. Modern cabling solutions, low energy lighting and wireless technology also help to boost this building energy credentials.
