Project Description

Anything but ordinary

With two successful properties under his belt, Koos Bekker wasn’t going to settle for anything less than stunning here in the UK. Cue Hadspen House, Emily Estate, and finally, The Newt. We were commissioned to deliver both the gift and farm shops. We have since continued working with the team to deliver the Ice Cream Parlour – watch this space!

Known as Hadspen House to the locals, this Grade II listed estate has been meticulously restored and transformed into a luxury retreat; hotel, spa with pool, restaurants, and visitor centre.

Unique Collaboration

The farm shop collaboration with the owners South African designer resulted in something truly unique. This second shop has a salt room, butchers counter, cheese maturation room, as well as a misting system for fresh produce and hand cut flowers grown within the estate.

Sustainable & Quality Workmanship

Each and every fixture was crafted using traditional techniques representing a celebration of craftmanship. The farmstead feel was fused with contemporary design: angles were stretched and distorted, glass cantilevered and timber treated to retain its purest state. With the added touches of vintage and eclectic furniture alongside meticulous visual merchandising of product sets and stories, both stores are anything but ordinary. Using local Somerset teams to complete this project further supported the intention to provide local businesses and communities with something they feel very proud of..
